A guide to apprenticeships
Construction is a booming industry in the UK. The latest report from CITB predict that over 230,000 UK construction jobs will be created over the next 5 years. Steve Radley, of the CITB, has said “This positive forecast should inspire more people to start apprenticeships, and more firms to take them on.” This makes it clear that construction an appealing choice for those embarking on their careers.
Apprentices in construction are able to learn while in full time employment, have an average wage of £170 per week and are able to gain a nationally recognised qualification. Perhaps the real advantage of an apprenticeship is, however, the opportunity to get hands on experience. This give you a practical understanding of the industry and looks great on your CV.

While the UK construction industry is booming, its future growth depends on its ability to attract talent. In fact, it has been projected that the growth of the sector will require the creation of over quarter of a million new jobs.
To help meet this challenge companies of all sizes are being encouraged to hire apprentices. Employing an apprentice will not only help you company, but will help ensure the future of the sector as a whole.
As you can see from the graphic below, many employers within the construction industry have improved their companies through the hiring of apprentices. It is also telling that companies that hire apprentices are popular with consumers.

For the second time in 15years Mexico’s most infamous drug lord escaped from a maximum-security prison. Joaquín Guzmán, aka El Chapo or the king of drains and tunnels and his cartel have been credited with building nearly 100 other tunnels on the U.S.-Mexico border, including one he referred to as an "f'n cool tunnel". 12-16 months in the making and costing an estimated $5 million dollars how did he do it?
