1997
C.G. Fixings was founded
Chris and Suzanne Guy start C.G. Fixings – selling fittings and fixings to job sites. Chris was quick to see an additional requirement for the prompt delivery of power tools and added these to the ever growing range of supplies he could offer his customers.
2003
The business goes online
To meet an ever-increased demand the business goes online – giving access to power tools UK-wide.
2013
Tuning point for online growth
Kyle Mitchell joins as Head of Digital, playing a crucial role in the overall growth of online sales, digital performance and brand recognition.
2015
Dave Prime and Nick Marshall join the team
Dave took control of the strategic buying of power tools from suppliers to position Power Tool World at the forefront of demand for popular products, while Nick has led on several key projects to implement new systems and was instrumental in the creation and design of our bundle kit system.
2016
Relocating to Newton Aycliffe
We relocated from Darlington to larger warehouse facilities in Newton Aycliffe. A huge step change for Power Tool World as we were able to significantly increase our stock and range to our valuable customers
2018
CVP-500
We purchased the CVP-500 automated packing machine to improve packaging and delivery times.
2021
Regional recognition
We ranked 13th in the Ward Hadaway ‘Fastest 50 North East Companies’ – recognising sustained growth over a 3 year period
2022
46% average turnover growth!
We move up to 12th in the same Fastest 50 North East Companies list published by Ward Hadaway – showing recognition of a 46% average turnover growth.
2023
New management team
Chris and Suzanne take on executive director roles as a new management team comes into the business. Andrew Pickersgill & David Quinn join to run the day-to-day as the business hits record turnover numbers (again!)
