Bosch keep updating and upgrading their power tools, whilst delivering the latest connectivity and technology via smartphone and tablet apps. Here is a small introduction to the Bosch Measuring Master App. This App allows you to draw floor plans, measure & add doors and windows in wall view, export your plans as .pdf files, share them with your team via email and so much more.

This App also enables you to connect via Bluetooth to Bluetooth-enabled laser measurers (GLM 50 C and GLM 100 C) as well as the GIS 1000 C Thermo Detector allowing you to transfer measurements directly from the laser measurer in real time! All that functionality neatly kept in one place without any need for messy notes, papers or project binders - increasing productivity and efficiency in your day-to-day work.

Ways to connect

The new Bosch Simply Connected tools have the feature to connect to the Bosch ToolBox App on your smart phone where you can manage them (and much more) all from one place. Connection is achieved through the low energy Bluetooth connection via either the tool's built in connectivity or plug-in, GCY 30-4 connectivity module.

Bosch Professional has changed the product name of 10.8V power tools, batteries and chargers to 12V. Therefore the full 10.8V Bosch Professional assortment has changed successively to 12V as of January 2017.

The ’12’ in the tool name represents the maximum battery voltage of 12 Volt and replaces the current product name with 10.8 Volt which stands for the average battery voltage. In North America the 12V product name is already implemented by Bosch Professional. Also other players in the market follow the 12V tool labelling globally. To ensure a better guidance as well as a better comparability for our users, Bosch Professional adapts to the 12V product name worldwide beginning from January 2017 onwards.

1. Measurement Camera

Measurement camera feature makes measuring and taking notes even easier - just take a photo of the jobsite, enter the measured angles and distances directly to the photographed features, add notes and send it via e-mail. WHY HAVE AN INSPECTION CAMERA?

Every competent tradesperson should check walls and floors for pipes and cables before drilling into them, and similarly, there are some situations where a close inspection of a cavity or gap is a smart thing to do before inserting a hand or a tool.  Most trades, especially plumbers, electricians, fitters and general builders will face situations where a leak, a loose wire or some such thing could be a safety issue if not known about – our older housing stock is particularly susceptible in this regard! Think lead pipes, asbestos and unearthed cables.

It could also be great for diagnostics – for example while testing this tool I found out that some of my radiators are suspiciously rusty at some of the joints where I would not have been able to inspect without this camera.
