The Makita UX01G 40v Max XGT split-shaft motor unit has a highly effective output of 1,000 watts, a soft start system to protect the operator from initial power loading, and Makita’s "Active Feedback Sensing Technology" (AFT) that shuts down the tool if the rotation speed suddenly reduces or if the blade or line head snags. 

There are a number of gardening tool attachment heads (sold separately) that are compatible with this motor unit, making it a versatile tool for a number of outdoor jobs.
