It’s the tool that Makita lovers have been crying out for, and it might be arriving in the UK very soon - get ready for the DMR300 & DMR301 cordless Bluetooth Makita radio chargers and speakers!
Soon to be launched elsewhere in the world, these products will allow Makita lovers in the UK to play music through their job site speaker AND charge their 18v LXT or 10.8v/12v Max CXT batteries at the same time, by inserting the battery cartridge into the radio and powering it by plugging the AC power adaptor into the mains.
The on-screen battery capacity indicator lets you know how much the battery is charged, lighting up fully when it has reached maximum capacity. You can then use the battery it has charged to power another tool, reducing downtime and the need for additional plug sockets for conventional chargers - or make your radio more portable and versatile by unplugging from the mains and moving around the job site as needed.
There are two models of the radio charger on the way - the Makita DMR300, which has Bluetooth and AM/FM radio functionality, and the Makita DMR301, which has both of those plus DAB/DAB+ radio too. Both models deliver quality, rich stereo sound via their 89mm woofers, have a maximum Bluetooth range of 30 metres, and are compatible with both 18v LXT and 10.8v/12v MAX CXT batteries.
Other features include an AUX-IN jack, letting you connect an external audio source with a cable, a USB output port for charging mobile devices, and even a bottle opener!
With the DMR300 and DMR301, you won’t have to wait long for your batteries to be fully charged and ready to go. Here’s the charging times you can expect:
For 18v LXT Li-Ion batteries:
- 6.0Ah (BL1860B) 100mins
- 5.0Ah (BL1850B) 84mins
- 4.0Ah (BL1840B) 67mins
- 3.0Ah (BL1830B) 48mins
- 1.5Ah (BL1815N) 27mins
For 10.8v / 12v Max CXT Li-Ion batteries:
- 4.0Ah (BL1041B) 75mins
