Very solid drill, the extra Nm makes a big difference. Powertool world delivery and pricing excellent.

Excellent drill, maybe a bit too heavy. Very sturdy, very high quality. Highly recommended for the price. The LEDs could have been positioned better - they don't light the tip very well - and the handle could be a bit softer, but these are minor problems. Driving screws in with the strongest clutch setting likely does not give 90Nm, you have to use the drill setting for that.

I've not had a Makita before but see why everyone uses them, they are very high quality and a joy to use.

Powerful drill for low price. Bit heavier in hands but if you try it once, you will never think of lower range Makita drills again.

I work my makita drills hard installing kitchens and bathrooms, this was a no-brainer when my last one died on me.

Bought it to replace a shoddy Makita BHP 456 that after moderate use had so much wear in the gearbox that it had become useless. Would have walked away from Makita after this experience but for my investment in 18V batteries. So went for this model as it seemed to be the best value and to have an all metal gearbox. The weight and better build quality were apparent the moment I took it out of the box and so far I have been very impressed with its performance. Let's hope it lasts better too.

Had to replace my old Makita 18v due to a sticking trigger real shame but managed to get going again and still in use for screws so I decided to go for the new model DHP458Z same spec 2 speed, hammer, torque, etc as last one but slightly faster rpm.On arrival heavier build and a metal chuck big thumbs up! Highly impressed with build quality and as norm all my batteries fit!! Used for 2 days and more than impressed. All things considered Makita all the way for me always and forever.Quality...
