I needed to cut out roots from a tree that had been felled, the use of a chain saw was impractical at ground level as the blade could be destroyed instantly on hitting any stones. This type of saw was the answer, although slower to cut than a chainsaw proved very effective and when I did hit a stone the replacing of a blade is cheap and quick. It comes in a sturdy carrying case and the power output of the professional model was certainly required. Delivery was quick.

Bought to replace my previous DIY saw which died (gearbox failed) after three full days hard work. Chose the product as it was only slightly more expensive than a DIY alternative, and after only one full day's work already recouped the difference in cos. 8x5in recovered oak beams filled with nails NO PROBLEM and so much safer than a chain saw. I am delighted.

I had wanted to buy the ‘green’ Bosch PSA 900 E Reciprocating Sabre Saw to cut down some mature trees in my garden until I saw this ‘blue’ Bosch GSA 1100 E. For about £30 more at PowerTool World, I had no hesitation in going for this more powerful model. In addition to the extra power, the hard carrying case that comes with the GSA 1100 E more than justifies the extra over the lower ‘green’ model.
The customer service dept. at PowerTool World was really helpful in answering some questions when I phoned up. In just a few short days, the tool arrived and it was delivered free of charge. Prior to this, I had spent some 10 minutes using a meat cleaver to chop down a 3-inch diameter tree branch and I knew then this wouldn’t do. Along comes the GSA 1100 E and a similar 3-inch diameter branch would have been gone in some 10 seconds! Okay, maybe a few more seconds but you see the point.
The GSA 1100 E is solidly built and the built-in LED lights come in very handy when one works late into the evening with failing natural light. I didn’t pay much attention to this new feature initially but now I fully appreciate this feature. The lights remain switched on when plugged into the mains even when the tool is not in use. This acts as a safety reminder to unplug the tool when not in use. The tool comes with a 4-metre mains lead which is long enough for most nearby sawing jobs but obviously one needs an extension cable reel to reach the bottom of one’s garden.
I am very pleased with the purchase and comforted in the knowledge that no reasonable demolition job within the household is beyond me with this tool in hand.
